How to prepare your child for the new school year
1. Check school clothes

If the school has a school uniform, check in advance whether the pants, skirts, sundresses, shirts, vests, jackets and other elements of the uniform fit in size.

If loose clothing is allowed, prepare several comfortable sets for school: T-shirts or shirts, pants, jeans, skirts, sweatshirts or cardigans.

Important: the child should try on all clothes before the start of the school year. What was comfortable last year may have become too small.

2. Check shoes

Prepare everyday shoes and a separate pair for physical education, if the school requires it.

It is better to buy a new pair in advance so that the child has time to get used to it.

3. Pack a backpack

Check the list of things needed for school and prepare:

Notebooks;

Pencil case;

Pens and pencils;

diary or planner;
folders for study materials;
a water bottle;
necessary supplies for lessons.

Do not put unnecessary things in the backpack - especially for younger students.

4. Gradually return the daily routine

1-2 weeks before the start of school, gradually bring the time of sleep and wake up closer to the school schedule.

There is no need to change the routine abruptly in one day - a gradual transition is usually easier.

5. Check the school's requirements

Clarify in advance:

whether a uniform is required;
what colors and models are allowed;
whether jeans or sportswear can be worn;
what shoes are allowed;
what is needed for physical education.

This will help you not to buy things that the child will not be able to use at school.

6. Give the child the opportunity to choose

For children 6-10 years old, you can offer to choose a backpack, shoes or individual items of clothing.

For adolescents 11-15 years old, it is especially important to take into account their taste. Even if there is a uniform, you can allow them to choose their own shirts, T-shirts, cardigans, or accessories within the limits of school rules.
